Welcome to Morning Star Aviation Consulting, LLC, a company dedicated to aviation and public safety through educational and accident/incident intervention strategies.
Accidents and incidents are an unfortunate reality of technical and professional settings like flight operations, whether air carrier, corporate or general aviation. Technology is ever changing, mostly for the better, but the human element remains consistent in many areas like fatigue and automation interfacing. Humans bring the gifts, talents and abilities to the equation but rarely is one individual responsible for the innovation, design, testing, manufacturing, implementation as well as the end user of any one new technology. Consequently, disconnects form in the process and results in a mismatch of the requirements to improve safety and efficiency. It’s almost unavoidable as so many different variables are required to apply new or to improve upon existing technology.
Morning Star is committed to bridging the gaps that form in technical systems where the human is required to manage safety margins using present and yet to be developed technology. One of those bridges is between academics and application. Institutional research and developments in technology are individually diminished when pursued separately. Therefore the Morning Star Aviation Conference Series will attempt to bring together many segments of aeronautics that form adjacent yet dependent organizations for the purpose of education and collaboration towards a greater public aviation safety margin. Data driven safety programs like ASAP, LOSA and FOQA are natural outgrowths of collaboration [bridging] and Morning Star can help you implement them into your organization as an intervention strategy. Other services are also available.
I am founder and operator of Morning Star Aviation Consulting, LLC. My background is in flight operations as commercial airline pilot since 1988 involved in four different FAR part 121 air carriers, CRM development, instructor and check airman on the Boeing 737, former Director of Flight Operations Safety, and now flying the Airbus 320 family for a major airline. I have a Bachelor of Aerospace Science degree with a minor in Business Administration. But most importantly, I have a passion for aviation safety.
Thank you for visiting the web site and please join me in advancing aviation public safety.
